Mentoring

We offer weekly 1:1 Autism Specific Mentoring sessions . These sessions are designed to have a meaningful, positive impact on a young person’s overall wellbeing, social confidence, and self-awareness.

With extensive professional experience and a deep understanding of Autism, I take a holistic approach—supporting not only the student but also working closely with their family and school environment. My role as a mentor is to build trust, advocate for the young person, and create a safe space where they feel heard, valued, and empowered.

What to Expect from Mentoring

Each mentoring journey is uniquely tailored to the individual, adapting to their needs and evolving over time. Sessions typically include:

  • A creative, relaxed, and individualised approach, guided by the student’s current interests and motivations.

  • Use of Intensive Interaction strategies to build trust and connection.

  • Social skills development through tools like social stories, cartooning, and comic strip conversations.

  • Opportunities to explore and express emotions using various mediums such as drawing, writing, sensory reflection, mindfulness, and happy books.

  • Focus on self-regulation, understanding identity, and exploring diagnosis in a positive and supportive way.

  • Implementation of emotional literacy activities, including reflection diaries, Zones of Regulation, and regular use of Talking Mats.
